Compass Group Wins Five Foodservice Catey Awards

Business and Industry Caterer - Restaurant Associates

Accolades received include: Business & Industry Caterer of the Year for Restaurant Associates; Chef of the Year for Nick Vadis; Procurement Team of the Year; the CSR Award; and finally, Rapport won the Front of House Team of the Year showcasing their team at Tower 42.

Now in their second year, the coveted Foodservice Catey Awards celebrate achievement in all aspects of the foodservice industry and reward those individuals, teams and organisations that work tirelessly to make sure their business delivers an exceptional service day in, day out.

Restaurant Associates won Business & Industry Caterer of the Year, reflecting another successful year offering the highest quality catering and hospitality services to its high profile clients. This award was open to foodservice businesses of all sizes and judges looked for achievements including commercial success and innovation.  

Nick Vadis, Executive Chef for Compass Group UK & Ireland, who won Chef of the Year, received a special mention for his work with talent in the industry, inspiring and helping others to achieve their goals. He joined Compass in 2001 and was appointed in his current position in 2007. He now influences what millions of people in the UK eat every day; at work, at school, in hospital or while enjoying their leisure time.  

Led by Oliver Cock, Managing Director, Commercial, the Procurement team has been recognised for their achievements working at the heart of the organisation, sourcing ingredients, products and services that enable Compass to remain the market leader. The team has been acknowledged for their efforts in the last year, working across all sectors to maximise value for clients and consumers.

The CSR Award recognises the foodservice business that has taken the most innovative steps to demonstrate corporate social responsibility in the past 12 months. Compass demonstrated commitment to their CSR framework, delivering ground-breaking initiatives such as EATFAIR, which launched in February 2013. Endorsed by the Fairtrade Foundation, EATFAIR is Compass’ bespoke countertop retail range that sees 5p donated from every item sold to support growers and producers in developing countries. The initiative has now sold over £1.5 million worth of products and as a result is sustainably supporting two Co-Operatives in Uganda.

Rapport Guest Services at Tower 42 was named Front of House Team of the Year, for demonstrating commitment to high standards of customer service. Rapport is the guest services brand of Compass Group UK & Ireland and this award makes it a double for Rapport, whose team at KPMG was successful with the same award in 2013.
